Aw Hans! What a little cutie!
The Perfect Nanny was a big disappointment for me. I was really excited to pick up my copy from the library on Saturday. I was thrilled to see that the book was pretty short (228 pages). I saw the book had some great reviews on Goodreads so I was excited to start reading.
The Perfect Nanny starts off with a bang. The baby is dead is the opening line and you instantly get chills. What happened? Who is responsible? Then the book gets going and it starts with Myriam and Paul looking for a nanny for their two children. They find Louise and she is amazing. They couldn’t of found a more perfect nanny.
I didn’t like the style of the novel. It switched time frames as well as people without any warning. At times I didn’t know who the person was or the time period. The book was translated from French to English, so that’s could be why I was having trouble connecting to the characters and plot. It was if I was looking in at a distance.
I wish that there was more time spent afterwards going over how the character’s reactions. There was a lot of unanswered questions at the end of novel, which I always hate (finish the story!!).
2 calculators out of a possible 5. Big disappointment and wouldn’t recommend.
That is too bad, I have also read a lot of really good reviews for this one.

Oh shoot! It looked so promising, nice pic, interesting blurb… Maybe the translation did have something to do with it and a book in French might be a different style. Thanks for the review!

Thanks! It was definitely a different style. The best part about it was that it was a short read so I didn’t waste too much time on it!
