Riley MacPherson has spent her entire life believing that her older sister Lisa committed suicide as a teenager. Now, over twenty years later, her father has passed away and she’s in New Bern, North Carolina cleaning out his house when she finds evidence to the contrary. Lisa is alive. Alive and living under a new identity. But why exactly was she on the run all those years ago, and what secrets are being kept now?
As Riley works to uncover the truth, her discoveries will put into question everything she thought she knew about her family. Riley must decide what the past means for her present, and what she will do with her newfound reality.

The Silent Sister was such a great read for this weekend. This weekend was horrible weather-wise and for the majority of the weekend, I stayed in and read. The Silent Sister had me wanting to keep reading and flipping more and more pages.
I liked how there was a lot of secrets in this family, including the one where Riley’s sister Lisa may possibly be alive after Riley thought she committed suicide 23 years ago. Riley quickly realized that the family that she thought she knew isn’t who she thought.
There were a lot of things that I didn’t enjoy about the novel, the biggest being that I found it too easy to figure out what happened. I was hoping for a big twist that would throw me off, but it never happened. I also wasn’t satisfied with the ending, I felt that there were some loose ends and the author tried to tie up everything neatly.
3 calculators out of a potential 5. Not my favourite Diane Chamberlain novels. For those that haven’t read one of her novels, I would highly recommend Necessary Lies.
I don’t think I’ve ever read any of her work

Yes it was! Either I’m reading really predictable novels or I’m getting better at solving mysteries lol
