Top Ten Tuesday – Series I’ve Given Up On/Don’t Plan to Finish

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Series I’ve Given Up On/Don’t Plan to Finish.

Most of the below are well known series. I read at least one novel in the series and I realized that I didn’t like the series and I have no desire to revisit the series.

What are some series that you don’t plan to continue? Did you enjoy any of the series that I have above?

    1. My mother loves the Sue Grafton series and my mother in law loves the In Death series! They are hard core fans! I had to stop since I wasn’t enjoying them and there was far too many in each series!

  1. Outlander is on my list too, it bored me and was way too long. I also read the first 3 books of the Woman’s Murder Club and I haven’t got any further. The series has so many books it’s overwhelming!

    1. I would of enjoyed Outlander more (and would of read another book in the series) if the book was half the size! I think I’ve read 10 books in the Women’s Murder series, but they have really gone downhill.

  2. I had to read “One for the Money” for a college class, and I’m not sure if I enjoyed it because it was an easy read compared to what else I’ve had to read for college or if I genuinely enjoyed it. I don’t plan on finishing the series, so it’s probably the former!

  3. I am a huge fan of Kathy Reichs so for me she will never write enough. 🙂 I read most of James Pattersons books that are aimed at adults but I am a few behind with the Womens Murder Club and think it would cost me a fortune to catch up but maybe one day. I do love a long series as long as each book has it’s own story-line running alongside the series. (I haven’t read the others on your list. 🙂 )

      1. I don’t mind a formula so long as it is relevant to the series and it is more of the base line rather than same story, different day.

  4. I’m SO disheartened to see ACOTAR up there! I enjoyed the first. . .the second book though is where it’s at- and the short that was published this year was amazing. Outlander has been on my TBR list as well as GOT and Reichs. I have to agree with Evanovich,

  5. I liked a court of thorns and roses. I have read one for the money but it was 10+ years ago..
I watched season 1 of outlander and the book followed so closely i honestly felt i was watching it again. Which might be dine for some.. however.. i dont rewatch many movies..and i dont reread many books either.

  6. You didn’t like A Song of Ice and Fire? I read all of them back to back in less than six weeks. Couldn’t put them down!

    1. I think my problem with the Game of Thrones series is that I read it on my kobo and didn’t realize there was the family tree/list of character names until the very end. I was so confused by the amount of characters that I couldn’t focus on what was happening.

  7. I liked A Song of Ice and Fire, but it took a very long time to read. Then there’s the question of whether the last two books will ever be written or not…

I hope to read A Court of Thorns and Roses someday, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Hopefully I’ll like them better than you did.

  8. I used to devour the Stephanie Plum novels I remember I got into the double digits before it hit me nothing ever changed and it was the same story over and over again. Plus I would have chosen the other guy (but that’s just me!) 🙂
