Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Longest Books I’ve Ever Read. I was stressing a bit when trying to figure out how many long books I’ve read (which isn’t many). Thankfully Goodreads has a feature where you can sort your books by the longest page numbers!
So many Game of Thrones, which I clearly didn’t like! I remember at the time, I had a library e-book copy of all 4 novels and it was something crazy like 5,000 pages! I ended up skimming by the end, but considered it one massively long novel.

The Limit of Books Does Not Exist 
I’ve not read any Game of Thrones yet (or watched the show). It’s on my list but the number of pages is one of the things that has been stopping me from taking the plunge.

I found that it was a tough read. There is a crazy amount of pages and the number of characters is huge! Maybe it’s better to just watch the TV series.

I did not know that Goodreads had that feature! I guesstimated that my biggest was Order Of The Phoenix when someone asked that question. I like your selection.

Too bad Under The Dome was not that great. Stephen King has been hit or miss for the last fifteen years or so I would say, so I’m not surprised.

I hate it when a novel has a large amount of pages when the story doesn’t need that many. I found that Under the Dome could of been a lot better in half the pages.

A LOT of books could stand some editing for sure. I like long books, but if they have filler crap in them, I get miffed.

My gosh! So many long books and they also disappointed you. Bummer! The longest book I’ve read was A Little Life clocking in at just over 800 pages. Besides that its mostly 400 pages that I consiser long 😆

I agree, anything over 400 pages is considered long to me!

It looks like you don’t care for the long reads! I can’t say I do either, but I’ll make an exception if I’m invested in a series!

No, I don’t care for long reads! For some of those novels, I think the novel could of been better if half of the pages were cut.

I used to really enjoy having one big beefy book to get through. It was so satisfying! But now, I find it too daunting and would rather read a bunch of shorter books instead of one big one. It almost seems stressful to have a book that long that I don’t have time to finish.

I have The Game of Thrones series on my tablet, but have never read any of them. I am not one for long books. i do not have a long attention span any more.

Me too! I think this may be the rare case where the TV show is better than the novel.

I haven’t seen the series either, but I did see some of the places they film it when my daughter and I visited Scotland and Ireland last fall.

I’ve only read Harry Potter – but I have a copy of Outlander

I haven’t been able to read any of the GoT books because, frankly, I don’t have time for them anymore as an adult, haha. The Harry Potter books dominated my longest books list, so I had to combine them all into “one book” so to speak when I did my post!

Oh my gosh these books are long! The longest book I read this year is only in the 600s but I’m aiming for at least 800 pages!

Great post, I just realize I read a lot of huge books and I really don’t like reading huge books but a lot of the series I love are 400 plus pages or more that really surprise me so I guess I do love reading big books lol. Thank you so much for sharing your awesome post.

Right now I have Atlas Shrugged on my nightstand which is 1,069 pages.

Oh no, I had very high hopes for GRRM’s books because I enjoyed the series very much.

Under the Dome and 11/22/62 are two of my favorite King reads! I actually loved the Game of Thrones books — I binged them all right around when the TV series was beginning. Nice list!

Dang, you’ve read some pretty long books. I wasn’t a big fan of the GRRM books, either, but I didn’t keep going after DNFing the first one. xD They were soooo long and I didn’t see the sense if I didn’t enjoy them lol. I have 11/22/63, but I haven’t read it yet because … I’m a slacker? And of course I’ve read HP. 🙂 Great list!
