A missing girl on a journey of revenge. A Serial―like podcast following the clues she’s left behind. And an ending you won’t be able to stop talking about.
Sadie hasn’t had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she’s been raising her sister Mattie in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water.
But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie’s entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister’s killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him.
When West McCray―a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America―overhears Sadie’s story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl. He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie’s journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it’s too late.

I wish I had listened to Sadie as an audiobook as opposed to reading the physical copy. The format is unique – half of the novel is a podcast and the other half is Sadie’s narrative. Other reviewers rave about the audiobook and I think it would of added an extra element.
Sadie isn’t for those who are looking for happy endings. Courtney Summers is not that type of author. I would even argue that Sadie is even more deep, sad, emotional than her other novels.
The characters, especially Sadie, are deeply broken and trying to move on past an event that killed Sadie’s sister, Mattie. Sadie and Mattie are more than just sisters, they have more of a mother/daughter bond. Which is why Sadie is devastated when she no longer has Mattie.
4 calculators out of a potential 5. This is so much more than a Young Adult novel. If you like mysteries that pull at your heartstrings, then check Sadie out!
I am intrigued – I wants it

I wonder how the author feels about A.J. Finn’s quote on her cover after his whole expose! I have this one on my TBR in book and audio format, I’ve been meaning to get to it.

My daughter is a huge fan of Courtney Summers and reviewed Sadie last year. She thought that this was fantastic. I am glad to see that you enjoyed it too. I recently ordered a hard copy of this from Amazon to add to my daughters collection.I can see how this would be a great audiobook.
