What a shocking ending! I love it when mysteries have an ending that is unexpected and untraditional. I thought I knew where things were going, but I was completely wrong!
The novel focuses on 3 characters – Lily (girlfriend of Jack), Maya (stepbrother of Asher) and a mystery man. Obviously the big question is who the mystery man? Is he Jack, Asher, someone else or are Jack and Asher the same person? Thankfully the author doesn’t spend too much on this mystery and before the half point the reader knows who the mystery man is.
The book did hook me the entire time, but there were some slow parts and I did guess some of the reveals. Again the ending was quite a shock and I’m glad that the author took a unconventional route.
3 calculators out of a potential 5. I’m glad I decided to take a chance on Hannah Mary McKinnon, whom I have never read before. I’m glad I did and I’m happy to support an author that lives just in the next city over.
Thank you to Netgallery and HARLEQUIN – Trade Publishing (U.S. & Canada) for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
